LIVCO PFC Dwyer Peer Support Program Attendance Policy

The mission of our Livingston County PFC Dwyer Peer Support Program is to empower Veterans and their family members to find passion, purpose, and hope as they transition from military to civilian life. We hope to assist Veterans from all eras and all branches of service to Reassess their situation and identify new goals, Reconnect with Veterans that have gone through, or are going through, the same transitions, which ultimately will lead them to Reintegrate with fellow Veterans and their community as they achieve their new goals.

We manage our Dwyer Program by having multiple events, activities, and programs each month in the local communities around the county. This allows us to see our Veterans on a more consistent and routine basis, which helps us develop a deeper human connection, and the ability to identify when our Veterans may be in need of support. It also allows us to host a variety of activities to ensure our diverse group of Veterans in the community all find something to enjoy. Finally, it also connects Veterans in our area to other Veterans in the area that they may never otherwise have met. Through these social interactions and connections, any Veteran that is in need of peer support can connect with any other Veteran that may have been in the same fight or struggle, but has now found a stable position in life and can relate that to the Veteran that is trying to find their way through it. To be eligible for participation, you only need to have served in the military, any branch, and have a DD214 (or equivalent) from your service. Whether it is one (1) day or fifty (50) years, service counts and makes you eligible for participation. All of our programing is free for our advertised audience, Veterans Only, Veterans + 1, or Veterans & Family.

PFC Dwyer Activities / Events / Programs Registration Process

Events are posted at the beginning of every month and you can easily register for one of the Peer Support events by clicking on the event icon posted on our website at: www.livcovets.com on our calendar of events on the home page or under the Upcoming Events Page by clicking on the “Request a seat” tab. We will email you with the status of your request once the registration period closes. In some situations, you may be placed on a waitlist. While we would like to accommodate everyone, certain events can only accommodate a limited amount of people. Our goal is to ensure everyone has a chance to go to the scheduled activity they want to attend and our programs, events, and activities are not first come first serve. We prioritize attendance based off the following list (in order);

1 – First time participants, Livingston County Veterans

2 – Livingston County Veterans (no matter how many events they participated in)

3 – First time participants, Any County Veterans

4 – Any County Veterans (no matter how many events they participated in)

Attendance Expectations

After signing up for an event, we expect you to attend that event once you receive confirmation that we received your request and have planned for you and any guests to attend. We understand that emergencies happen and things come up, we just ask that you notify us that you must cancel no later than 48 hours prior to the event. This allows us to back fill the openings with those on the waiting list or coordinate with the vendors to adjust final counts and charges. Failure to notify us will result in a “No Show” status. What is a “No-Show”

LIVCO PFC Dwyer Program defines a “No-Show” as a Veteran, their family member(s) or guests that have registered for an event and either: - Cancels with less than 48 hours’ notice prior to the event start time, - Does not arrive to the event, or - Arrives more than 20 minutes late to an event.

Impact of a “No-Show”

Not showing up to an event has a significant negative impact on our program and the services we provide to Veterans, their families, guests, and/or caregivers:

- It’s unfair and disappointing to other Veterans who could have otherwise participated, or

were put on the waitlist for the event

- It could mean a loss / waste of money as some events are pre-paid or under contract,

which could reduce the opportunity for future events, activities, or programs

- It disregards the time and work efforts committed by staff and the venue to ensure a

quality event for all participants.

- It leaves us wondering if the participant and guests had an accident enroute to the event.

- It delays the start of the event, activity, or program which shortens the planned

experience for all participants.

Multiple “No-Shows” by a registered participant will impact your admittance to future events.

Consequences of a “No-Show”

If you have two (2) or more “no-shows” within a twelve (12) month period, you will be placed on a 90- day discretionary hold from participating in LIVCO PFC Dwyer Program events. You will be informed of this action via phone and/or email. If you are placed on a 90-day discretionary hold, you will not be able to participate in other peer support events that you had already registered for. All other Veteran Services will still be available to you.

What is “Wait List”

Notification that you are on the waitlist for an event means that we have a list of everyone, in accordance with the above prioritization of attendance order, and we will reach out in the order of priority as we receive cancellations to ensure we fill every seat we have planned for. If you receive an email or phone call notifying you that you are placed on the waiting list, please respect that and understand we are at our planned capacity. Impact of a “Walk-in” or “Unconfirmed Attendance” or “Showing up Anyway” Showing up to an event without registering (walk-in), without receiving a confirmation email or call that we have a reservation for you (unconfirmed attendance), or “showing up anyway,” after being notified you were put on the waitlist has a significant negative impact on our program and the services we provide to Veterans, their families, guests, and/or caregivers:

- It’s unfair and disappointing to other Veterans who could have otherwise participated, or

were put on the waitlist for the event

- It could mean a waste of money as it could put us over the budgeted amount for the

event, which could reduce the opportunity for future events, activities, or programs.

- It could put us in breach of a contractual agreement as some events are pre-paid or under

contract, which could result in litigation

- It could leave us short of food, drinks, gifts, or space for those that did get a confirmation

of reservation.

- It could ultimately put our PFC Dwyer Program funding in jeopardy of being short or

worse, revoked due to not following the county required fiduciary responsibilities /

regulations that we are required to follow.

If you have two (2) or more (in any combination) “Walk-ins,” “Unconfirmed Attendances,” or “Showing up Anyway” within a twelve (12) month period, you will be placed on a 90-day discretionary hold from participating in LIVCO PFC Dwyer Program events. You will be informed of this action via phone and/or email. If you are placed on a 90-day discretionary hold, you will not be able to participate in other peer support events that you had already registered for. All other Veteran Services will still be available to you.

We have maximum capacities planned for our events to ensure we can provide consistent programming the entire year to ensure we engage with our Veteran community without a break due to lack in funding or mismanaged budget allocations. Please understand this is to protect the integrity of our program and allow us to ensure we maximize the planned for space while everyone has a fair chance at participating in events.

In signing this Agreement, or agreeing to it on the website, I acknowledge that I have read the policy in its entirety, fully understand its terms, and agree to be bound by its terms. I further acknowledge that no oral representations, statements, or inducements, apart from the foregoing written Agreement, have been made by the County. Lastly, I acknowledge I am signing this policy voluntarily; I am at least eighteen (18) years of age; and I am fully competent.
